Rohit Kanwar

Rohit Kanwar is a lawyer at UrbanLawyers. Rohit was called to the Alberta Bar in 2019 and has vast experience in the diverse litigation practice he maintains. Rohit has appeared at various levels of Courts and Tribunals all over the Province of Alberta. Rohit started his academic journey at the University of Alberta here in Edmonton where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014. Rohit then pursued his legal education in 2015, attending Bond University in Australia and graduating shortly after in 2017. Rohit completed his articles in Edmonton at a boutique law firm and worked as an associate at another boutique firm before starting UrbanLawyers in 2021. Rohit maintains a diverse litigation practice focusing on Family Law, Personal Injury Law, and Civil Litigation. Rohit is also plays a prominent role on the UrbanLawyers Real Estate team. Outside of the office, Rohit enjoys golfing, spending time with friends and family, and fishing.

Vivek Kanwar

Vivek Kanwar was called to the bar in July 2024 and has been a dedicated member of the Urban Lawyers team since the beginning of his legal career. Prior to his bar call, Vivek gained invaluable experience working as a legal assistant and articling student at Urban Lawyers. During this time, his Principal, John T.A. Stainton, shared his vast knowledge accumulated over 50 years as a lawyer specializing in corporate and real estate law—knowledge that Vivek continues to excel in today.
Vivek’s current practice focuses on Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Personal Injury, and Real Estate Law, where he brings a client-centered approach to every case. His commitment to understanding clients' needs and delivering practical, results-driven solutions reflects his belief that the practice of law is not only about legal principles but about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Vivek’s academic journey spans two continents, beginning with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2018. He further pursued his legal studies at Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia, where he earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) with Distinction, Class 1. Prior to articling, Vivek gained experience as a legal assistant, working on matters involving Family Law and Wills & Estates.
Outside of his legal career, Vivek is passionate about mentorship, sports, and technology. A lifelong learner and collaborator, he is always open to discussing new opportunities, the latest tech trends, or sharing his love for sports.

Armaan Kaushik
Lawyer
Born and raised in Calgary, Armaan went to the United Kingdom to obtain his law degree from the University of Leicester, Leicester Law School, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with First Class Honours. During his time in law school, he was actively involved as an executive member of the Pro Bono Society, where he dedicated himself to educating individuals in underprivileged areas about their legal rights.
Upon returning to Calgary, Armaan went through the process of obtaining accreditation through the National Committee of Accreditation (NCA) while studying at the University of British Columbia, Peter A. Allard School of Law. Prior to becoming a student-at-law, Armaan completed the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED) Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) as part of the Alberta bar admissions program.
Armaan is interested in family law and corporate and commercial matters.
Outside the office, Armaan is passionate about exploring the world through travel, having backpacked through Europe during his studies in the UK. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, and maintaining an active lifestyle.
